Technorati Favorite Your Fans … automatically!

I found a great tool if you use Technorati.  Ever have a bunch of new fans who have added your site as a Technorati favorite and you want to go through and favorite them back?  Well this tool will do it for you!

After downloading the Technorati Favorite Your Fans zip file and unzipping it you can run the technoratiff.exe file.  It will prompt you for your Technorati username and password which it uses to connect directly to your Technorati account and download everyone who has favorited you.  The tool then favorites everyone that you haven’t already favorited!  Very nice and quite a time saver.

Blog Tips - What is your Feed Count?

RSS Feed Count Quick tip on adding the Feed Count to your blog.  First, what is a Feed Count?  If you look over to the right side of the screen you should see a little icon that says how many readers I have.  As of this posting its 35, but hopefully if your reading this post months from the original post date, its way above that number :)

Your Feed Count is basically how many people are subscribed to your site.  You can read up on what RSS is all about here.  Your Feed Count goes up every time someone requests your blog from their reader application, such as Google Reader

Microsoft Surface - Touch Screen Technology

Microsoft has just announced its Surface Computing technology. Surface is a Windows Vista PC inside a 30 inch touchscreen table. Five cameras that can sense nearby objects are mounted beneath the screen. Users directly interact with Surface by touching or dragging their fingertips across the screen.  Surface can also respond to wi-fi enabled digital cameras and download pictures simply by placing the camera on the Surface desktop.

The machines, which Microsoft planned to debut Wednesday at a technology conference in Carlsbad, Calif., are set to arrive in November in T-Mobile USA stores and properties owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. and Harrah’s Entertainment Inc.

5 Basic Blog Tips for Beginners

Here’s a list of Blogging Tips for Beginners and also a good reminder for veteran Bloggers.

#1 - You are the most important member of your audience!

Wether you have 1 reader or 1,000 readers you have to like what you write about.  It’s okay that your readers have some input on your blog, but ultimately you read your stuff first and you have the last say on what gets published.  Have a sense of ownership and pride about what you post.  Don’t pander, don’t sell-out, stay true to your own voice.

#2 - Be patient, be steady.

Sony’s New Razor-thin Display

Very interesting technology news from SONY.  Consider having a video display as thin as paper that can also bend and still show full-color video! Here’s the quick highlights of this technology:

sony oled •Razor-thin display bends like paper and shows full-color video
• Display is 2.5-inches and 0.01 inch (0.3 millimeters) thick
• Sony hasn’t decided how it may use the technology
• Future versions may wrap around wrist or be worn as clothing

“In the race for ever-thinner displays for TVs, cell phones and other gadgets, Sony may have developed one to beat them all — a razor-thin display that bends like paper while showing full-color video.” (Link to Sony touts tiny, film-thin TV screen that bends - CNN.com )
